Read articleWhere to start
The library is written for three different readers, and the fastest route through it depends on which one you are. Developers wiring verification into a product usually want a working request first and the theory afterwards, so start with how to verify a GST number using an API and then jump to the guide for your language. Finance and procurement teams are normally trying to solve a process rather than write code — for them, GST verification for vendor onboarding describes where the check belongs in an approval flow. And if you landed here trying to understand a rule rather than build anything, the GSTIN format explained is the piece almost everything else assumes you have read.
The four groups above are not arbitrary categories. Verification and search covers the act of looking a taxpayer up — by GSTIN, by name, by PAN, and in bulk. The integration guides are code: one per language, framework or no-code platform, each ending in a request you can actually run. Use cases and workflows sit one level up and deal with where a verification belongs in vendor onboarding, accounts payable, KYB and lending. Compliance explainers are the underlying rules — registration thresholds, return deadlines, input tax credit, e-invoicing — written in plain English rather than in the language of the Act.
GST rules move, and stale tax content is worse than no tax content. Every post carries the date it was last reviewed at the top, and the ones tied to figures that change — rate slabs, e-invoicing thresholds, return due dates — are revisited when those figures change rather than on a fixed schedule. Where a post makes a claim about what the government portal returns, it reflects what the API actually sees in the response, not what the documentation says it should. If you find something that has gone out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
